There is no parole in the federal system. However, those in federal custody have an opportunity to earn good time credit. For sentences longer than twelve months (but not life), an incarcerated person may earn a credit of up to 54 days for each year of their sentence, as long as there have been no disciplinary problems. Be aware, a person that does not have a high school diploma or GED, or who is not actively working and making satisfactory progress toward earning one, will receive less good time credit.
